Housatonic School’s Aspiring Developers Have Until Sept. 30 to Complete Phase 2 of Bid Process

Two developers seeking to renovate the former Housatonic School have been asked to submit additional project details and documentation for Phase II of the bid review process.

The town has asked WDM Properties LLC of North Adams and Arete Venture Partners LLC of Nanuet, N.Y., to submit financial commitment letters, detailed site plans, project schedules, narrative descriptions of proposed uses, a list of prospective tenants if feasible, a marketing plan, and a detailed development budget. Also requested are details related to insurance, property management and long-term maintenance plans, among other information.

The two developers have until Sept. 30 to submit the required information, but the town will grant a reasonable extension if requested. So far, the town has received no extension requests.

“There is a good deal of detailed information we need for our review purposes,” said Town Manager Mark Pruhenski. “We don’t expect this to appear on our Selectboard agenda again until late October.”
