Town-Wide Earth Day Clean-up is April 20, Around Town

The town invites residents to participate in community cleanup efforts in Great Barrington and Housatonic village, as part of Earth Day observance on April 20.

Starting Tuesday, April 16, yellow and green bags for roadside trash pick-up will be available at the following locations: Town Hall, Claire Teague Senior Center, Mason and Ramsdell libraries and Housatonic post office. Bags will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

More details on clean-up sites will be made available at bag pick-up locations and on the Town website in the coming days.

Residents are asked to leave trash bags at visible roadside locations for pick-up by the Department of Public Works, and to alert the Department of Public Works at 413-528-0867 ext. 1 about those bag locations.

​In Housatonic, the Housatonic Improvement Committee and Housatonic the Beautiful are co-sponsoring the village clean-up starting at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and pastries at the Ramsdell Library. A village BBQ follows at noon.
