Are you interested in affordable housing issues in our town? Are you interested in making sure our town's affordable housing developments are well-run for residents? If so, consider volunteering for the Great Barrington Housing Authority (GBHA) board.

The Town is seeking one volunteer for the non-elected GBHA seat that is appointed by the Governor. This appointed individual serves with four other elected board members.

The Housing Authority oversees Flag Rock Village off Park Street/Route 183 in Housatonic, which has 18 family apartments and 32 senior units; Brookside Manor on Main Street in Great Barrington, with 31 senior units; Dewey Court in Sheffield with 22 senior/handicap one-bedroom units and 8 family units; plus one state Department of Developmental Services house.  The MA Department of Housing and Community Development is financially responsible to maintain these units and there are no town funds used.

For more information about the work of the Great Barrington Housing Authority, visit the GBHA page on our town website.

Interested volunteers are asked to send a letter of interest to Amy Pulver, Office Administrator, apulver@townofgb.org
